SES Labour Solutions are seeking an experienced Senior HSET Advisor for an immediate start to join the Health, Safety, Environment and Training Department at one of our clients Kalgoorlie Operations.

• 8:6 roster FIFO from Perth

• Underground hard rock experience necessary

• Immediate position available SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role, specifically on a site in remote locations preferably within the mining resources or construction industry

 

• Minimum of a Certificate lV in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent (essential)

• Certificate IV in Training and assessing (essential)

• Lead Incident Investigation Training (ICAM or similar)

• Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to influence outcomes

• Confident use of MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint and Excel)

• Demonstrated positive and flexible attitude with a willingness to take on a wide range of diverse tasks and adjust to competing priorities

The Company
We are now seeking an experienced Senior HSET Advisor for an immediate start to join the Health, Safety, Environment and Training Department at one of our clients Kalgoorlie Operations.

The Role
Reporting into the Manager – HSET this role is offered on a FIFO basis from Perth.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop the SHMS to the level of risk acceptable to the S&H Policy in collaboration with relevant workers
  • Collate data from all areas on site so as to offer direction to the high level team members in regards to managing safety in their individual areas
  • Liaise with superintendents and supervisors to ensure that the SHMS is implemented across the operating site
  • Ensure safety documentation on site is regularly audited to maintain currency

 

  • Facilitate the development and maintenance of SHMS documents for activities and processes within the site
  • Develop and maintain a Training Needs Analysis for all positions
  • Develop and maintain a skills matrix to assist superintendents and supervisors to allocate competent workers to tasks
  • Utilise processes to identify hazards which may impact on the safety and health of the employees, the environment and the local community
  • Communicate the SHMS to workers and seek feedback
  • Liaise with the area industry safety representatives
  • Inspect parts of the operation and participate in inspections and investigations conducted by the SSE, superintendent, supervisor, SSHR or an inspector

 

  • Assist in the review of procedures in place to control the risks to workers to ensure it is at an acceptable level
  • Review injuries, illnesses and high potential incidents and provide analysis and plans to reduce the adverse effects of hazards on workers
  • Consult with superintendents & supervisors to ensure corrective and preventative actions are closed out on time
  • Liaise with superintendents and supervisors to review the effectiveness of actions
  • Help in the resolution of Safety and health issues
  • Investigate complaints from workers about Health and Safety
  • Refer Safety and health matters to the SSE as appropriate

The Ideal Candidate Will Be Able to Demonstrate:
