Job Summary:
The Operator Lead will manage and oversee the coordination of assigned personnel to monitor device operation and power production locally. Makes rounds, checking the condition of all operating machinery. Records operating data in logs, maintains records. Maintains power output to meet system demand without exceeding machinery’s design capacity. Escorts, observes and supervises performance of contractors to ensure compliance with Site Safety Procedures.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee the coordination of assigned personnel to monitor device operation and power production locally
- Train the customer staff in operation and maintenance as instructed by the Lead / Manager
- Support and train other Operators assigned to him/her.
- Coordinate and monitor the operation of the specified systems by arrangement with Lead / Manager from system turnover and erection.
- Ensures full compliance site-specific rules, safety regulations and environmental protection measures
- Maintain a log of all the field activities carried out during his shift and report to Lead / Manager
- Advise the Lead / Manager of any information that could influence the commissioning time schedule and/or the commissioning staff planning
- Coordinate safe isolation of device for preventive and corrective maintenance.
- Reads and record meters and gauges or automatic recording devices at specified intervals to verify operating conditions.
- Record data such as temperature of device, hours of operation, temperature or pressure, and fluid levels.
- Open and close valves as required for proper system operation and mechanical isolation.
- Open and close circuit breakers for proper system operation and electrical isolation.
- Diagnose malfunctions in machinery and device and effectively communicate with Lead /Manager during plant normal and emergency situations
- Suggest measures to improve production methods, device performance and quality of product.
- Raise work orders for required operational preventative and corrective maintenance.
- Read and understand technical manuals and system piping and instrumentation diagrams.
- Read, understand, and ensure compliance with all plant safety and regulatory procedures.
- Keep clean, repair and maintain power plant device.
- Understand OH&S risks / hazards and environmental / legislative aspect / impacts related to work activities.
- Ability and willingness to work holidays, weekends and overtime as required by field assignments
- Travel may be required

Required Qualifications & Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 2-4 years related work experience at combined cycle power plant preferably having GE F Class Technology.
- English proficiency required
Desired Characteristics:
- Associate in Engineering or Technical Certification
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to lead and manage a team
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively to employees of the organization
